Bodega Séptima

Codorníu Group (465 years), Huarpe stone wall, award-winning architecture

The ‘seventh’ winery of Spain’s Raventós Codorníu Group – a family with more than 465 years of winemaking tradition (since 1551) – whose New World expansion began in Napa Valley (1991) and reached Argentina in 1999, with the winery opening in 2001 (some sources say 2003). Built with the Huarpe (indigenous) dry-stone technique: natural stones from the Mendoza River stacked to provide natural insulation. Architecture by Bórmida & Yanzón – considered one of the most elegant wineries in Argentina. 5,500 m² of buildings, 3 million bottles a year. Winemaker: Paula Borgo. Finca Emblema (150 ha in Agrelo) plus terroirs in the Uco Valley. Gold Award: Best Of Mendoza’s Wine Tourism 2016 (Restaurant) by Great Wine Capitals. María Codorníu sparkling wines. Culinary Space with seasonal cooking by chef Rodrigo Toso.
