Where to have lunch at a winery in Mendoza
By DaniFounder and CEO of Welocal· 2 min read
Short answer
There are three ways to have lunch at a winery in Mendoza: a paired multi-course menu, an asado or a picnic in the gardens. The catalogue has 71 food experiences, most of them in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
What is a multi-course winery lunch like?
They are menus of several dishes, each served with a house wine. The catalogue has menus of three to nine courses.
The options include the four-course paired lunch at Susana Balbo Wines, the five-course menu at Monteviejo and the Alturas menu at Salentein. Ruca Malen serves a six-course menu that is listed in the Michelin Guide.
What if I prefer something more informal?
There are asados at wineries, picnics for couples or families and tapas with a view. They are shorter, more relaxed plans, good to combine with a tasting.
At Terrazas de los Andes you can have lunch under the trees, and Pascual Toso offers an asado at the winery.
How much time should I allow for lunch?
A multi-course menu takes around two hours, and the longest ones a little more. Ideally, do a single visit before lunch and leave the afternoon free.
