When is the best time to visit Mendoza
By DaniFounder and CEO of Welocal· 2 min read
Short answer
Mendoza can be visited all year round, because wineries welcome guests in every season. If you want to experience the harvest, go during vendimia, between late summer and early autumn. For outdoor lunches, spring and summer are best, and in winter cellar tastings come into their own.
When is the grape harvest in Mendoza?
Vendimia is the grape harvest, and it takes place between late summer and early autumn. During those weeks there are experiences that only exist at that time of year.
The catalogue has three: picking and treading grapes at Zolo, the immersive harvest at Ruca Malen and the harvest at Dante Robino. Exact dates change every year: check with us before planning the trip.
What is best in spring and summer?
These are the months to be outside: picnics, outdoor lunches, gardens and sunsets at wineries. Several options in the catalogue are made for that.
And in autumn and winter?
In autumn the vineyards change colour and the weather is still pleasant for touring. In winter, cellar tastings and multi-course menus are the best plan.
Some experiences depend on the season. Before deciding, ask us what is available on your dates.
